Lesson guide: Courage that trusts God
Four stories where people acted bravely, and what the passages say gave them courage.
What the passages say
David remembered how God had helped him before (1 Samuel 17:37). Esther fasted and asked others to fast before she went to the king (Esther 4:16). Daniel kept praying as he always had (Daniel 6:10). Deborah reminded Barak that the LORD had gone out before him (Judges 4:14).
Discussion
In each story, who or what did the person trust? Was the person afraid? (Esther 4:11 shows she knew the danger.)
Careful
These passages are about trusting God, not about being fearless or about winning fights. Several are marked sensitive; read the content notes first.
