Manna, ravens, a widow's flour and oil, and five loaves: stories of God giving what was needed.
What the passages say
God gave manna every morning for forty years (Exodus 16:35). Ravens brought Elijah bread and meat (1 Kings 17:6). The widow's flour and oil did not run out (1 Kings 17:16). Jesus fed a great crowd from five loaves and two fish (John 6:9-13).
Discussion
In the manna story, what happened when people kept extra for tomorrow? (Exodus 16:20.) Jesus taught, "Give us today our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11).
