Context
A psalm of trust in God's protection. Satan quotes verses 11-12 to Jesus in the wilderness, and Jesus refuses to put God to the test (Matthew 4:6-7).
Read it in its setting. The psalm expresses trust in God's protection. Jesus' answer shows it is not a promise to be used to test God or a guarantee that harm will never come.
