Context
God speaks near the end of a psalm about war and the nations: "Be still" calls the nations and his people to stop striving and recognise his rule, for "I will be exalted among the nations".
Read it in its setting. Often quoted as an invitation to quiet personal reflection. In context it is first a command to stop fighting and acknowledge God's rule over the nations; quiet trust follows from that.
