Choosing a reading level
How to pick between Early learners, Growing readers and Bible explorers, and why one label never fits every child.
Start with your child, not the age
Children of the same age read and understand very differently. Try a story at one level and watch whether your child follows it, then move up or down.
A child who reads well may still want the shorter level for bedtime, and a younger child may enjoy listening to a fuller retelling with you.
What changes between levels
The scenes, pictures and Bible passages stay the same. Only the retelling grows: longer sentences, more of the passage's details and, at the explorer level, background notes.
Older children
From about 13, most children are ready for the full BibleKenya reader and study guides. Each story links to its passage so they can step across when they are ready.
